Weeknotes, 2023 W02

• Had a great meeting about the 2023 strategy for me in my role at work. It’s a good fit for my current interests and growth areas. I’m excited about it.
• Started the Writing 1 course at Second City. There’s a nice mix of students and I like the teacher. Can’t wait to dig into the details of writing for comedy sketches and other things.
• We had our first rehearsal for our Valentines Day show, and there’s some really funny stuff. The first rehearsal is all about getting things from the page to the stage. There’s always surprises. One of my sketches was a little blah on paper, but when we ran it in rehersal, we knew it worked without any changes. This is the magic or words on page, actors take on them and their performance choices, and good direction.
• We had a our family holiday party, and it was great to see everyone that could make it.
