I just heard about The Ballad of Buster Scruggs the other day. I watched it tonight. I originally thought it was a full length feature film, but it’s an anthology of six stories.

The Coen Brothers are geniuses.

I liked some more than others but overall the cinematography, writing, direction and acting were flat out amazing. Dark/violent comedy of course but as the stories unfold there is so much depth. The last segment was my favorite of the bunch. Brendan Gleeson delivered a fantastic low key performance- it was all in his face. The three passengers on the other side of the coach were outstanding as well. Amazing acting all around. But Jonjo O’Neil left me awestruck. This requires multiple rewatches and is, to me at least, a masterclass in storytelling (and I don’t even like westerns).
